I lost my job. No, I didn’t really lose my job. I know where my job is still. It’s just that when I go there’s this new guy doing it.

A couple of Fridays ago I was called into a conference room at work which contained an HR person. HR person informed me that it was a sad day because they were letting people go and I was one of them. Sad for them, maybe. Who wants to wake up and go into work spending the day telling people that they don’t have jobs anymore?

Me on the other hand, I sort of had a feeling this time was coming. If I don’t have any interest in or like what I’m doing I’m a horrible faker (my report cards from 3rd-12th grade are solid proof of this). I walked out of there feeling like Tim Robbins getting out of Shawshank. For quite a few years I loved fixing computers for a living. I remember landing my first tech support job and couldn’t believe that people were paying me to do that. Although I’m incredibly thankful for the financial rewards over the years it started to get pretty stale day after day, not to mention I’m very office politic-intolerant. Homey don’t play into that silliness.

It’s time to do what I was put on this earf to do: be creative. I’m making every minute of this awesome little paid vacation that was bestowed upon me count to bust my arse making a living doing 2 of my 3 favorite creative outlets: graphic and web design. Music is in there as well (DUUUH) but that’s a given.

Without further ado I’m officially cutting the grand opening ribbon on the doors of the 3rd installation of my “guywho” series of websites today. There’s guywhoplaysguitar.com, guywhodraws.com, and now guywhomakeswebsites.com. If you or anyone you know of needs any sort of design soivices I would greatly appreciate you sending them my way… Pretty please and thank you! I want my next personal website to be guywhoneverhadtogobacktoacrappyofficejob.com. Here’s to that happening.
