What do you do when your drummer is on vacation, it’s rehearsal night, and there’s evildoing musical demons that need exorcising? Go to rehearsal anyway. Last night I did just that and video-ed a few things for fun.. something I’ve been wanting to try for a while now but our apartment isn’t the place for loud guitar shenanigans, and even if I could play past “inside voice” volume it’s just not the right vibe. The Iced Ink rehearsal compound which is furnished with Christmas lights, a drink holder, foam, carpet, and a guitar hanger on the wall, however? That’s more like it.
This version of “Steve Buscemi Overture” might not make much sense out of context without its bass (Gregg Mitchell) and drum (Ethan Meyer) Iced Ink counterparts, not to mention the wee iPhone mic adds a thick blanket of suck on the sound… Such is life.
