My solo acoustic music has been on the back burner for the past 10 or so years after getting burnt out on playing it for hours on end at weddings and cafes. I recently got a wild hair up my arse to play geetar in the NYC subways, both electric AND acoustic. Being that I haven’t really touched the latter in quite some time I recently dusted off the ol’ Taylor and started relearning my tunes.

“77” is one of the first full solo acoustic tunes I ever wrote in the late 1990s, finished on the same day that I started it. I wish they all came that easy! This video was done a few days ago as I was re-learning it. I figured that would be an easy one to start with and do a video of. SILLY ME… An hour and a half’s worth of fumbling and saying naughty words later I finally got through it in one straight shot. Thank goodness my iPhone’s camera didn’t run out of tape. Here it is!

Shameless plug: For those of you not in the know, a full album of my acoustic tunes is available for poichase and download here! If you’re interested in seeing another video of mine like this one check out A Sparkling Shade of Green.

Guitar: Taylor 414CE. Video recorded with iPhone 6, guitar signal recorded via Logic Pro. I was hoping to record it acoustically but the occasional airplanes and sirens outside of our apartment just weren’t adding the right vibe to the tune.
