To keep myself from going bonkers these last few months of winter, I focused on creating this brand new high-octane glob of ICED INK music instead. “Neo-Maxi” is my musical tip of the cap to Anthony Michael Hall in his prime. The boy could do no wrong back in the day as far as I’m concerned! He lost me around “Johnny Be Good”… but “Vacation”, “Sixteen Candles”, “The Breakfast Club”, and my personal fave “Weird Science” more than make up for it.
Let’s hear it for Rusty, Brian, Gary, and “Geek” as he’s credited in “Sixteen Candles”. And let’s also hear it for the death of winter. See ya/wouldn’t wanna be ya, you dumb, cold fucker!
