Rocking @ the Salon 7.28.11

The Art Salon gig went really well and was a great time. What an honor to play in a cool space that so many legends have passed through; that room is always swimming with good energy. Big special extra hugs to the fantabulous Art Salon Party crew for having me play there. Kimberly Nichole and her guitar player (Dave? I’m horrible with names and will correct that if I find out I’m wrong) toadilly rocked it and the short but sweet Singlestar fashion show was really awesome. Met some very cool new people there and saw a few regulars. As naked as it feels playing solo acoustic guitar it’s also incredibly liberating to just sit down without a setlist and rely on nothing but my gear and myself and let that shit flowwww.

I used the Fishman Loudbox Mini for the first time at this event and it turned out to be an incredible little amp. At times as I was playing it almost seemed to sound a little TOO loud and big. That is a nice problem to have considering the thing is the size of a couple of shoeboxes taped together and weighs as much as our cat Nellie. My Crate CA60D amp I’ve used for 10 years is going on Ebay this weekend. Good riddance, ya 42 pound lug. I’ll always have you in my memory and in the background of our wedding photos.

Rock on with your socks on.
